It's been a while since I've written anything personal about myself publically online. My first site online was a personal site way back in 2000, but died off a few years into getting this domain. With this, I've decided to make it my multipurpose dump of randomness. Chances are, this site will most likely rot your brain. It's best to save yourself by leaving right away! This layout features the ever so lovely Oichi from KOEI's Sengoku Musou (Samurai Warriors). If it looks familiar, yes it is.

PROFILE OF CHLOE

My name is Chloe and I like to make paper crafts with scotch tape while listening to hockey on the radio. My favorite animals are bats, turtles, and jellyfish. I like to eat takoyaki (with not too much sauce), fresh out of the oven cake that's not chocolate and made out of whole wheat flour, wasabi flavoured nori, swiss cheese, marzipan, and ambrosia apples. Among the things I don't like cannot eat include raw broccoli stalks, pears, oranges, raw pineapples, kiwi, honeydew melons, grapefruit, strawberries that are not dark in color, bitter melon, steak, pork chops, pan fried fish, ginger beef, avocado, shark fin, bok choy, sea cucumber, sandwiches, raw mushrooms, green / red / orange / yellow peppers, bacon, turtles, dirty raspberries, dogs, cats, pigeon, snake, prawns, escargot, cereal with milk, Havarti cheese, sour candy, durian, papaya, raisins, dried cranberries, cantaloupe, honey dew melon, citrus fruit, kiwi, brussel sprout, parsnip, sandwich meat, "too much" cheese, dried coconut, and many other things1 .

I like '80s Japanese rock and pop music. Because of it, my favorite singer is Himuro Kyosuke. He was the lead singer of my favorite band, BOØWY. I also really like Italian and French opera, and traditional Japanese music. My favorite traditional Japanese instrument is the shakuhachi because of the elusive sound it can create and the way it can effect the imagination when listened to.2 My favorite traditional Japanese music group is ZAN. 3

My favorite books include Makura Soushi (Pillow Book) by Sei Shounagon and Genji Monogatari (Tale of Genji) by Murasaki Shikibu. I think that Genji is very sexy, and I wish to be one of his consorts.4 I recently developed an interest in Latin literature. I don't like Matuo Bashou, but Saigyou is pretty "okay". I prefer Norikiyo better.5

My interest in history lies predominantly in Japan history in the Heian jidai, Kamakura jidai, Sengoku jidai and Tokugawa jidai up until Commodore Matthew C. Perry arrived. My favorite historical figure is Akechi Mitsuhide because of the mystery behind the reason why he disobeyed Oda Nobunaga's order to support Toyotomi Hideyoshi when he was dealing with the Mouri. The apparent fact that Oda Nobunaga's corpse wasn't found at Honnouji also interests me. I am a firm believer that Akechi Mitsuhide was a master poet, is good looking, and participates in renga parties. 6

I like also like to play videogames. My favorite videogames series include the Devil May Cry, selected games in the Final Fantasy series, Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Kamatari Damashii, Sengoku Musou, Sengoku BASARA, Gyakuten Saiban, Parasite Eve, and Resident Evil. I also participate in the MMORPG, Sword of the New World: Granado Espada. My favorite videogame character to look at is Sengoku Musou's Akechi Mitsuhide because he is Mitsuhide and he has nicer hair than me, and wears pink hakama and cowboy boots.7 Leon S. Kennedy from the Resident Evil series isn't bad either.

FOOTNOTES
  1. My mother and cousin helped me with this list....
  2. A vague allusion to an entry about wind instruments in the Makura Soushi by Sei Shounagon.
  3. One of my favorite shakuhachi players, Sunagawa Norikazu, is from ZAN
  4. A (mockery) allusion to Sarashina Nikki. No I don't want to be the Yugao lady or Ukifune.
  5. Saigyou's name before he became a recluse was Norikiyo.
  6. I am not joking. The renga aspect is confirmed by 愛宕百韻
  7. Witness the horrors!
